Get Moving Boxes

What’s the best Way to get Moving Boxes?

At MovingBoxesMart, we are passionate about the environment and this is what drives our website. It worries us that so many cardboard boxes are simply discarded in the trash, without a thought for where they will end up. Of course, the place they end up is in landfill, which is not an ideal solution. Some people remember to put them in the recycling, and while this is a better option, there is an even better one – reuse.

Many boxes, especially moving boxes, can be reused again and again before they need to be recycled. Even when they have reached the end of their life as a secure moving box, there are several other uses for them. They may still be good enough to be used for storage in your house or attic, to hold garden hand-tools or to protect surfaces in the garage or shed. Cardboard moving boxes are biodegradable, so they can go into the compost, which returns carbon to the soil and so helps the air quality as well as the soil, and they also make excellent garden mulch.

We want to keep moving boxes and other moving supplies and packing materials in use for as long as possible. This is the main purpose of MovingBoxesMart – to allow people who have finished with their moving boxes and packing supplies to post an ad for free on the site, so that other movers can have the use of the moving supplies and moving boxes that they no longer need.

This is how it works – you go to MovingBoxesMart, click on the “Get Moving Boxes” tab on the top bar and you will see a drop-down list of states. Click on your state to see what ads have been posted there for used moving boxes and packing materials, both for sale and for free.

When you have completed your move, whether you got your moving boxes and supplies from here or not, simply return to the site, click on the “Post an Ad” tab on the top bar and follow the prompts. You will need to list exactly what moving supplies you have and say whether they are for free or for sale, and what your prices are.

It really is that easy and simple! Think how this is helping the environment!

When you are moving house, you will need to have moving boxes of different sizes and types. The conventional moving boxes come in a variety of sizes which may vary between suppliers or be called by different names, like small, medium and large or extra large. These names really don’t describe the boxes, so make sure you have the actual dimensions to be certain you get exactly what you need. There are also specialty boxes for clothes (called wardrobe boxes), mirrors, TV and computer screens, lamps and small statues.

As well as moving boxes, you are going to need some other moving supplies like packaging tape to seal the boxes top and bottom, a permanent marker to label the room each box came from and its contents, moving blankets to protect your furniture, bubble wrap and packing paper to keep your possessions safe inside the boxes. Just one point here, about writing on the boxes – write only on the packaging tape to keep the actual boxes cleaner and easier for other movers to use them after you.

So, click on “Get Moving Boxes” and help us to help the planet, by keeping moving boxes out of landfill.
